Unique English Immersion Experiences
Learn the English Language with
Faith. Family. Fun.

A life changing experience
If you want your children to fall in love with English language and culture; and communicate with fluency then you have come to the right place!
I’m a mother of six beautiful children, and just like you I want my children to have as many opportunities in life as possible. In today's international world being able to communicate effectively in English is key to opening doors of opportunity, and I’d love to help your child to achieve that.
I created The English Advantage to reach out to as many individuals as possible, and offer your child the benefits of full immersion in a loving, nurturing family, where they will learn English and British culture with our home educating family.
I want to help your child to fall in love with English language and culture, and I’m glad you are here.

What is it?
Our language immersion experience includes living and home educating with a professional English teacher and her family, receiving English grammar lessons, playing games and going on excursions with the family.
What does this look like on an average week?
Monday to Thursday is our work day week. You will receive guided English classes while the children also study. Some afternoons we will go on excursions to local sites of historic interest or natural beauty. During the evenings you may find yourself playing sport such as badminton or table tennis, or board games with the family.
Fridays are the fun day! We begin the day by browsing recipe books for traditional treats to bake for Friday's poetry teatime and Saturday's picnic. We then shop for the ingredients and come home to bake. We lay the table beautifully, and begin!
Poetry tea time starts with a free write, this is a response to a stimulus, where you focus on writing your thoughts and ignore all punctuation, spelling and grammar. It's a brilliant exercise for fluency. This is followed by poetry from the era that we are studying. We then share any poetry that we love. After the poetry we have a philosophy debate. All in a delightful, relaxed manner with delicious food and tea.
On Saturdays we go on excursions to historic sites, natural sites, museums or art galleries!
On Sundays we relax. We attend mass at a Benedictine Abbey, eat a traditional Sunday roast dinner and hike the local hills.

Our Home Town
We relocated from Whitstable, Kent in the summer of 2024 to Peterchurch, Hereford.
Peterchurch is a tiny village with views of the Black Mountains, on the English/Welsh border. Surrounded by fields, forest and hills, and of course a wealth of wildlife; such as deer, foxes, owls and birds of prey. We live among sheep, cow and fruit farms. It is 20 minutes from the city of Hereford and 20 minutes from Hay-on-Wye, the world's "first book town".
Faith in the Home

Life of prayer
Our guests are invited to accompany us to daily mass at the nineteenth century Benedictine monastery Belmont Abbey. During their stay we will try to participate in sung vespers, at least once and a tour of the abbey with one of the monks. We will also attend a tour of Hereford Cathedral, some parts of which date back to the eighth century. Our guests are also invited to join us in our daily family rosary, and prayers before meals. Our love of our Catholic faith permeates our home, and we are often celebrating feast days.
We value freedom highly, and do not force participation if any guest feels they do not wish to join us for prayer.
